I am from Lewes in Sussex. I began my studies locally, with a foundation course at Brighton College of Technology. This was followed by three years studying for a degree at Edinburgh College of Art and then a post graduate diploma. My specialism was illustration and printmaking. I spent a term studying at Rhode Island School of Design in the United States during my final year.

Since graduating, I have worked as a full time book designer for publishers including Random House Childrens Books. For the past 8 years I’ve worked as a freelance book designer and artist producing limited edition prints, artwork and stationery.

I have exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer exhibition, Battersea and Hampstead Art shows. I enjoy participating in group shows around the country including Brighton, Swansea and Leeds.

I like to travel and draw on location. When drawing in the open air, I enjoy getting lost in the moment. The challenge for me is trying to capture a sense of place as I sketch – its like freeze-framing a fragment in time.

With drawing I can react immediately to an event, like a dog scampering by, or a waiter serving a drink. I can make expressive marks quickly and instinctively when using charcoal, ink and pastel. The prints emerge from these studies. As I experiment using print techniques, the images take on a new life.

Every print is an original and part of a limited edition. All prints are for sale (unless the edition has sold out). The prints are hand printed and numbered on 100% cotton and acid free papers.
