Hove seafront

After a spot of shopping, I took a walk to Hove on saturday.  I stopped and watched the petanque players for a while (although no sketching this time). The Peace statue stands nearby marking where Brighton meets Hove. I sat on a (double sided) bench and contentedly sketched and listened to the conversation going on behind me.  I faced out onto the Hove lawns and looked back toward Brighton.  It was relaxing observing  the buildings that line the seafront and watching the passing traffic. I thought I’d try using my writing pen for the more detailed areas in contrast to the brush pen and pastel.  Later, corks started popping when a wedding catering party set up a stones throw away. When the guests arrived, I departed.

Amsterdam screenprint

It’s been a busy few weeks at the Ink Spot Press, Brighton with many art students working towards their degree shows. Brings back memories! I’ve been editioning a screenprint based on my drawing of the Leidseplein, Amsterdam. I got into a colour frenzy!

Soho Square, London

I’ve been meaning to update my blog but freelance work has taken over. A week or so ago I had a lovely time visiting a very crowded and excellent Miro exhibition at the Tate Modern and then relaxing with a beer in soho square. It was fun chatting, drinking and putting pastel to paper.
