Bath and Bristol

June 10th, 2013

Drove up to Bristol and stopped off in Bath. Glorious weather! It wasn’t as busy as it had been when I last visited which was a pleasant surprise. Saw the Roman baths and wandered around the city. Stopping off to get pastries and walked to the famous Royal Crescent. Time for a break at the park. Lots of students hanging out post exams. Volleyball, frisbee and even a group singing along to a guy strumming his guitar. Very tuneful! Could have stayed here all afternoon but time to head to Bristol.

Had a few hours to spend in the city. I had never visited previously and wanted to make the most of my time here. Walked around the harbour area.  The wind really picked up and struggled to hold the paper down to draw the boats and warehouses. St Mary Redcliffe church and The Redcliffe parade of pretty houses caught my eye.

Headed to the shopping area and then to University Park passing Banksys ‘Well Hung Lover’. Walked up Park Street to Brandon Hill. Sat beneath Cabot tower, an ideal spot for taking the weight off my feet and looking at the beautiful Georgian houses on the hill and across the Bristol skyline.

Then headed  home hoping to beat rush hour (without success) Hope to return soon.
